Hailing from the Great Southern Continent, I was raised an army brat and spent much of my youth being shuttled from city to city every few years as my father took on new postings within the Australian Army. After my father’s retirement from the forces, my parents moved the family to a vineyard in Hastings, New Zealand. In Hastings I completed my secondary schooling at St John’s College. I then put as much distance between my family and myself - as any young man is want to do - and graduated from the University of Canterbury with a degree in history, art history and English. From there the logical step was teaching and I soon found myself at St Thomas of Canterbury College in Christchurch and then Villa Maria College. In my role at Villa Maria College, I am currently the Director of Religious Studies. In this position I uphold the Catholic values of the college through the charism of the Sisters of Mercy who established the school back in 1918. In 2008 I married my beautiful wife and we are the proud parents of Miriam, Esther and Naomi. In my spare time, I like to play sport, keep fit, and when my wife lets me, there is nothing more enjoyable than dreaming about one-day owning another motorbike.
